stockholms dungeon acid returns with one of the strangest, nastiest acid records to date.carnal knowledge is caveman techno, one chord hammered with hypnotic precision, a two-note acid line adding an air of polyrhythmic mystery. the heavily processed sounds of copulation comprise the bulk of the atmosphere, the whole thing feeling like an alien, updated version of lil louiss immortal french kiss. the instrumental version is a slightly swingin’ variation on the same theme. dungeon acid principal jean-louis huhta is known for editing the sweetest parts from his hardware enduro-jams. the bonus beats title for b2 is a bit of a misnomer in fact, these are the sounds of mutant, futuristic lovemaking in all their glory, perfect for sexing up otherwise sterile dance music. get some!

absolutely huge record from the shelter vaults! roland clark killing it on this underground house anthem from the turn of the millenium. i get deep (shelter mix) is pure peak time joy, based around a rough looping sample lifted from blue magics seminal philly anthem welcome to the club from 1976 and with clarks vocals telling us how he gets down in the club over some heavyweight drums. simple, yet devastatingly effective. this 12inch also features the dub mixes, original mix and the always indispensable acapella version for those who wish to create their own version!

following on from the the likes of the excellent son.sine re-issue, delsin kicks off 2015 with another one in the form of micronism s steps to recovery ep. originally released on nurture records in 1999, the ep, which comes in black and limited coloured vinyl, is a bonafide deep house classic from the short live career of new zealander denver mccarthy. engaging causelss mercy is a contemplative, atmospheric affair with soft drums and celestial pads that could roll and roll forever and you d never get tired. the quiet mind is just as deep, but the spiralling pads and rippling melodies here are more colourful and charming. both tracks are hugely spacious, luxurious affairs whilst constructing space on the flip is a more stripped back and humid number that is more enclosed and oppressive for cosy back room spaces. finally, the title track is a playful, elastic house track with heartwarming hooks and pinging drums. this tasteful ep shines a light on some definitively deep tracks that really do deserve the attention that will now inevitably come their way.

having established deepsystems as a radio show some years back, matt pond (one third of the bittersuite collective) has decided to launch a record label under the same name. given his contacts, it s a smart move. two close pals - bittersuite member jon gray and dan 1dan rodgers - join forces as tales ov rossi, laying down a slowly shifting chunk of deep, heads-down house that stretches across one side of the 12-. on the flip, gray goes solo under the bittersuite banner, delivering the two-part -familiar currents-. both versions sound heavily inspired by the dense percussion, expansive musicality and rich soundscapes of ron trent.

after the striking debut release on nothing odd recordings found label owner sam smith sitting comfortably alongside baby ford for an exploration of subliminal house and techno, nor002 finds smith donning the alias monty the fly and expanding on his own vision for stripped-down dance music brimming with psychoactive tendencies. across the three tracks there is a diverse range of moods being drawn on, from the meditative to the mechanical, all fused together by what some might consider an obsessive eye for detail. there s meditation in the air in places, with mysterious pads and heavy splashes of reverb soaking out into some corners in the time-honoured dubwise spirit of transcendental electronic music. elsewhere brushed percussion and disembodied vocals shape out a more sinister message, lending themselves to a sound world both immersive and disorientating in one fell swoop.

jeroens commemorating his roots by re-releasing a selection of search records from days gone by. each has been remastered in such a way that it retains its authentic and timeless energy. pressed onto fresh vinyl, this limited series contains some of the finest search tracks ever to be put out, handpicked by jeroen himself. in light of that it might be easily forgotten that jeroen search has been creating techno since the early nineties. and that he ran one of the most influential labels around back then: >search<. between 1996 and 2001 it was home to a host of releases, many from jeroen himself. released on vinyl and without any reprints, they ve since hidden in the record collections of a select few.

another classic from the west end archives! forrrces keep on dancin from 1982 was a huge record across the board from bronx block parties to the paradise garage in nyc and dj harveys moist nights in london town, its popularity was bolstered by a fierce francois k dub mix on the b-side that stripped the record right back to it s most basic elements with a healthy dose of reverb assisted psychedelia thrown in for good measure! this killer cowbell led boogie jam has always been a big hit with disco freaks and continues to sound fresh some 30+ years later even making its way into veteran uk dj and music historian sean ps 100 boogie essentials 1980-1984 list. high praise indeed!re-mastered from original tape transfers, re-pressed and made available again for 2015 in conjunction with west end records, new york city.

limited 12 inch on the tiny don pedros label from nigerian disco supremo bobby i.g featuring two of his best and most sought-after tracks on one slab of loud-pressed vinyl. originally out on the impossible-to-find *bomp* album in 1980 (i.g.s one and only release sadly), these cuts are top-class examples of early nigerian boogie, both heavy ass-shaking floorfillers boasting some phenomenal funky guitar work and ultra-groovy bass. first up is the awesome collectors favourite *disco power* while on the flip we have the equally desirable funk monster *funk ina ghetto*. totally brilliant - dont miss!

the fourth instalment from the baroc label has dropped! 004 from unfinished portraits is another excursion into the raw depths of house and techno. three untitled cuts let the music do the talking, scraping hats and some choice vocal samples help to cement this labels signature sound on another outstanding 12 inch. all hand stamped, with postcard inserts.

two sides from our favorite early 80s lover lew kirton. its the first time the sexy soul mans two track have been 45! both solid tried and tested lp tracks, but who wants to spin lps. 15 years of doing a club every week and you end up with some secret weapons, *something special* was always a big tempo change record. everyone is tired from dancing for two hours to fast disco, modern and deepfunk and without warning you just drop this badboy in take it down a notch and let the dry riding commence, solid. on the flip is lews straight up jack of gloria gaynors *i will survive*, pure shameless anthemic dancefloor disco smasher that i have championed for years, that catchy guitar line over lews big voice never tires.

iron curtis delivers his 2nd full 4 track ep for hudd traxx following up the huge stansfield ep in 2010. the opening track care demonstrates ics diversity as a producer as he lays down a killer bassline with melodic keys which will find its way into many big hitters bags. sing along with your friends has deep laid keys and an mcde esk feel to it accompanied by some heavy snares for good measure. flip for the b side and find shouting & screaming, a dark driving track that even spencer kinsey would be proud of.

with the departing comfort ep, clr artist drumcell has put together a heavyweight remix package for one of the tracks from his debut long-player sleep complex. after receiving raving reviews and massive support in the international scene, the californian dj/producer has invited some of todays most intriguing techno artists to create their own version of his outstanding composition.

todd osborn is back for a second round on jared wilsons 7777 label with some heavyweight cuts made for the club. the ep is a pastiche as only todd can do - looking towards garage, chicago, detroit, the future and the past. the record finishes off with an excellent acid remix from mrsk.

we are very proud to present a doubtingthomas vinyl release on metroline limited! capharnauem is a very trippy affair across 3 tracks, 2 originals from aurelien and a remix from the uber talented romanian producer from arpiar fame, cristi cons. off the grid, the opener, stays within the grid until 3/4 of its lenght. a tight kick leads the way with the help of a pulsating bass and some lush pads in typical doubtingthomas style. the off moment happens after the mid way point when the free jazz element comes in and shuffles the groove off the grid!

federsen returns to fifth interval for another sublime instalment of dance floor friendly dub-techno. dewpoint is an altogether tighter affair when compared to the label s first release, point reyes. the drums are taut and razor-sharp, propelling the listener effortlessly through a dense fog of ferric clouds, swelling to fill the outer-reaches of the echo chamber. a highly polished metallic production style that can be compared to some of andy stott s early and classic works. tomas rubek remixes dewpoint for the b-side, remaining faithful to the original track s structure but viewing it through a tinted lens. dewpoint s chords become iridescent, kick drums fall into a straighter pattern and are backed by further dusty percussion, shifting the original into spheres inhabited by the likes of rod modell and fluxion.

refined selector and esteemed producer, steve braiden breaks out on his own with the off out label after some excellent releases for the likes of rush hour and joy orbison s now defunct doldrums label. its a good day when there is some new braiden productions to soak up, and hopefully the establishment of off out will see them appear with more regularity in the future. as an opening statement, apex of the sun s way is a powerful one indeed! the title track is characterised by the sort of rhythmic poise we have come to expect from a braiden production, with searing emotive textures rubbing up against some of the crispest drums heard this year. - solar poise- is equally memorable, with strange ghostly vocals trapped deep in the mix and an unpredictable synth careening around the channels.
